William "Kenny" Rowland, born on March 10, 1946, in Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at Hospice Savannah, surrounded by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances Rowland. A devoted family man, Kenny leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Kenny enjoyed a fulfilling career as a crane operator, working for many different companies. After retirement, he continued to serve his community as a security guard at Effingham County Courthouse, where he was known for his uncompromising demeanor and unwavering commitment to duty.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Kenny was an active member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #54 and the Alee Temple in Savannah, reflecting his dedication to service and fellowship.
An avid fan of old western reruns, Kenny held a deep appreciation for classic television, boasting a complete collection of every episode of "Gunsmoke." His interest in Southern Heritage also highlighted his love for history and tradition.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Rowland; mother, Blanche Tyson, and sister, Barbara Osborne.
Kenny is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; his son, Lloyd Rowland, and daughter-in-law, Lari Rowland; and his cherished grandchildren, Nathan Rowland and Ashlyn Rowland. He is also survived by his brother, Al Rowland, Sr., and sister-in-law, Lynn Rowland, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service to honor Kenny's life will be held on at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, Georgia.
The family wishes to send special thanks to Marianne Fields, the nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the angels at Hospice Savannah.
