It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia Parsons, a woman who will be remembered for her faithful devotion to the Lord and commitment towards service to others. Virginia was born on January 12, 1962, and returned to her heavenly home on February 27, 2026.

During this earthly journey, she blessed many lives through her service to others, her medical skills as a nurse practitioner, and her ability to see and create beauty all over the world. From encouraging words spoken through her ventriloquism as a crowned beauty queen to starting multiple medical programs across several universities, she was the example of achieving the impossible and believing in dreams.

Driven by an endless thirst for knowledge, Virginia was a lifelong teacher and a devoted learner. She achieved her doctorate as a nurse practitioner, which she embodied fully through serving in medical missions in the Middle East, the Caribbean, Central America, and the Global South.

Observant of all, Virginia’s greatest legacy was her commitment and sharing Christ’s love to all those who had ears to hear and eyes to see. Her commitment to “the least of these” was shown even in her final days. If you were ever within arms reach, she would eagerly reach out to offer hugs, anointing, or a listening ear. She taught us that it's ok to celebrate the little things, as well as the big- and that a birthday cake was always a welcome treat. It was her enormous spirit and contagious energy that inspired many impromptu tea parties, surprising adventures, and glitter filled days.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Her memory will remain a lasting legacy of love for her cherished family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Ashley Borders, Jack Borders III (Kelly), Samantha Shoemaker (Timothy), Matthew Borders and grandchildren Isaac, Grace, and Gwen who were the lights of her life. The family extend their heartfelt sympathies to friends, colleagues, and all who mourn Virginia’s passing.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Virginia’s legacy of service and healing by donating to the Christian Light School in Haiti, where her love, light, and service will be remembered fondly. This, we believe, would be the best tribute to her extraordinary life.
