Victoria Lynn Edwards (Carlisle), lovingly known as MOM, Mema and Ms. Vicki entered Heaven peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Pooler, GA, at the age of 82.
Born on August 26, 1942 in Miami, FL, she was the eldest of two daughters of Lawrence and Virginia Carlisle.
Vicki was a devoted wife to her late husband Ronnie for over 57 years. She was a loving mother to her 3 children, Lauri, Randy and David. A cherished grandmother to Randall, Lauren(Dylan Kennedy), Cameron, Sara Beth, Emma and Spencer, and a proud great grandmother to Andy and Carter.
After accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior, at a youth summer camp, Vicki lived out her Faith through the remainder of her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Garden City for 50 years, and Sevierville First Baptist for 10 years. She shared her faith with family and friends through bible studies, conversations and how she lived her daily life.
Vicki worked at Savannah Foods and Industries (Dixie Crystals), where she retired with over 40 years of service. She was known for her determination and ingenuity and was invaluable in paving the way for future generations of women at the company.
While she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudokus, word searches, and other problem solving challenges, she also enjoyed participating in senior centers (Garden City and Sevierville) and various singing & handbell choirs (church and Pigeon Forge community). Two less known facts were that Vicki was an expert marksman and sharp shooter in high school and at one time wanted to be a librarian. She loved reading and organizing books in every setting she was in.
Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She provided an abundance of love, support, guidance and joy to her family, and her loss is already felt.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ginni; son, Tommy; and husband, Ronnie. She is survived by her sister, Josie O'Meara (Bill); previously listed children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Savannah Hospice and Comfort Keepers for their care and support of Vicki and the family.
A celebration of her life is planned for 12:00 pm Friday, July 25, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the celebration of life. There will be a later visitation in Sevierville, TN in September.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105 in Vicki's memory.
