Stijepan Popovic, beloved husband, father, brother, and esteemed restaurateur, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 65. Born in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on January 23, 1960, Stijepan embodied the warmth and hospitality of his homeland throughout his life.
He began his American journey in Wisconsin in 1997, before settling in Savannah, GA, in 1999, where he established deep roots in the community. Stijepan's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he opened Cafe Toni on Wilmington Island that same year. Following this success, he introduced Adriatic. For the past 17 years, Stijepan worked alongside his son at Toni Steakhouse.
