Springfield

Stephen Louis Becton, aged 65, of Springfield, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Born in Savannah, Georgia on a warm summer day, Friday, August 5th, 1960, Steve lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

A retired truck driver, Steve spent decades on the road, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. He found solace and joy in simple pleasures like boating, flying RC planes, attending car shows, and cruising in his beloved Corvette. His passion for cars led him to become a member of the Low Country Car Club.

Raised in the nurturing environment of First Baptist Church in Garden City, Steve continued to nurture his faith at the Baptist Church at Ebenezer, where he was a cherished member of the community. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, influencing his actions and inspiring those around him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Diane Marie Price Becton. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he held a special bond with his brother, Robert Wayne Becton. Steve was a proud stepfather to Jacob Hartzog, Skyler Austin (Joseph), and Chelsea Fennell. He delighted in the lives of his step-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Conner Austin, Lilly Fennell, Joseph Cay Mikell, and Shane Richards. Steve's love extended to his nieces and nephews, Nina Marie Becton, John Robert Becton, and Daniel Lewis Becton (Kaitlin). He also leaves behind his dear aunts and uncles: Daisy Davis (Ralph, deceased), Roger Cleland (Henrilyn), Cathy Black (J.W.), Ann Britton (Steve, deceased), Ray Cleland (Linda, deceased), Wanda Smith (Randy, deceased), and Patsy Burkhalter (Doug), along with countless friends who became family over the years.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert Louis Becton and Mary Cleland Becton. Stephen also joins his uncle, Joe Cleland (Ellen), and his aunt, Dolawese Edison (Ronald), in peaceful rest.
