Sandra Moody Pluta, age 72, of Davenport, Florida and formerly of Savannah passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in Clermont, Florida. Born on June 11, 1953, in Savannah, Georgia, Sandra lived a life filled with kindness, dedication, and service to her community.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Eugene Pluta, her son, Julius K. Moody, III, her daughter, Jennifer Diane Moody, cousins, Dawn Fuller and Matt Story as well as her niece, Terri Breeden. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Cail and Sybil Story Cail, and her husband, Julius Kenneth "Jack" Moody, Jr.
Professionally, Sandra worked for many years with C & S Bank, NationsBank, and ultimately Bank of America where she retired as Assistant Vice President. She dedicated herself to several organizations. Sandra was a Past Advisory Board member of Savannah Assembly #1, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, where she was a holder of the Grand Cross of Color. She was affectionately known as "Mom Moody" to members of the Cecil Cheves Chapter, Order of DeMolay, and the Associated DeMolay Chapters across Georgia, providing guidance and care to many young people. Further, she was a Past Worthy Matron of Laurel Chapter No. 51, Order of the Eastern Star, a Past Royal Matron of Georgia Court No. 1, Order of the Amaranth, and a member of Treasure Coast Court No. 76, Order of the Amaranth and was currently serving as Grand Page of the Grand Court of Florida, Order of the Amaranth. Her involvement in these organizations left a lasting legacy, touching countless lives.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate the life of Sandra at a visitation on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Following the visitation, an Order of Eastern Star Service will be held at 6:30 PM, and an Order of Amaranth Service will immediately follow.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral service at Greenwich Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.
