Ronald Sanders Goodwin, 86, of Pooler, Georgia. went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Ron was born on January 20, 1940, in Gordo, Alabama, he was the son of the late Roy E. Goodwin and Mary Margaret Goodwin. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, including during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1980 from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. Following his military service, he continued working in the community with Williams Furniture and later with City Supply/Ferguson Waterworks.

A man of deep faith, Ron was devoted to serving God and sharing the love and compassion of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Patricia S. Goodwin; his parents, Roy E. Goodwin and Mary Margaret Goodwin; and his brother, Charlie Goodwin.

Ron is survived by his children, Rhonda G. Barkley (Terry), Cary D. Goodwin (Shri), Karen Casey Cole, and Steve Cole; his grandchildren, Matthew M. Williams (Nicole), Christina W. Hodge (Allen), Brendon Goodwin, and Woody Barkley (Jennifer); his great-grandchildren, William Allen Hodge, Jr., Trace Barkley, Carson Barkley, and Makayla Williams.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with family.
