Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Lewis Ellis, age 65, of Fitzgerald, died on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.
Ronnie was born on June 30, 1959 in Savannah to Lewis Henry Ellis and Evelyn Lessie Stembridge Ellis; and lived in Savannah most of his life before moving to Fitzgerald several years ago.
He was a 1977 graduate of Savannah High School and co-owned Futch Termite & Pest Control for nine years. Ronnie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, sitting in the sun, being outdoors, and being on the water. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends, and eating seafood, especially crawdads. He was a jokester, happy and go lucky, he never met a stranger, he would give anyone the shirt of his back and was a man of his word. Ronnie was especially kind and caring and is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gerald "Jerry" Ellis "Gator".
His family includes his sons, Brett Austin Ellis and his wife Amanda of Evans, and Matthew Anderson Ellis of Savannah; his brother, Stephen "Steve" Lewis Ellis and his wife Carol of Blufton, South Carolina; his sister, Evelyn "Evey" Ellis Neville and her husband Jonathan of Richmond Hill; his grandchildren, Lily and Sophia Ellis; a special niece who was by his side to help, Melanie Ellis Kment; a special caregiver, Catina Parsons; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The graveside funeral service will be held on Monday morning, June 23, 2025 at 11:00 at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Henning officiating.
