It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Stephen Edwards Jr., a beloved father, brother, and friend. Ronald peacefully departed this world on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, at his home in Garden City, GA. Born on Wednesday, February 27th, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia. Ronald was a beacon of joy and an unwavering source of strength for those who knew him.

Steve's life was marked by his dedication to his community and his love for adventure. He was employed by the City of Pooler, where he worked passionately for the Pooler Recreation Department, bringing joy and laughter to countless individuals. Whether on the field or off, his enthusiasm was infectious and left a mark on all who interacted with him.

His passion for life extended beyond his work. Ronald was a motorcycle enthusiast, who found solace and freedom on the open road. He was also an avid bowler in a local league and spent many happy days playing men's softball. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his numerous camping trips and travels, where he made countless memories with loved ones.

Steve's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted children: daughter Stephanie Edwards and her husband Qhir; daughter Katrina Simmons and her husband Michael; son John Edwards and his wife Aimee of Garden City, GA and daughter Sarah Nicole Alderman and her husband William of Rincon, GA; grandchildren: Ronnie, Victoria, Candyce, Johnathan, Wyatt, Greyson, and Oliver. His legacy will continue to live on in their hearts and lives.

He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Ronald Stephen Edwards Sr. and Peggy Edwards, as well as his beloved spouse, Susan Jane Edwards, with whom he is now reunited, and a brother Kevin Edwards

A visitation for Steve will be on Saturday August 22, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel.
