Ronald Eugene Boatright, a native of Savannah, Georgia, passed peacefully on December 1, 2025. He was born on December 1, 1941, to James Albert Boatright and Corene Mary Conaway. He married Delores Annette Hinely on June 1, 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Boatright is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Delores Annette Boatright; his son, Kevin Boatright (Julie); his daughter, Karen Sather; and four granddaughters who were his pride and joy; Lexi Patterson (Ian), Kate Sather, Sarah Boatright, and Molly Boatright. He also leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Evie Patterson; two brothers, Rudy Boatright (Karen) and Eddie Boatright; a sister, Kathryn Walton; three nephews, Allen Boatright, Gary Boatright (Lisa), and Eddie Boatright Jr. (Tonya); as well as many beloved friends and extended family.
He was a 1960 graduate of Savannah High School and went on to earn degrees from Armstrong State College and East Tennessee State University. He took great pride in his service in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Boatright retired from the United States Department of Agriculture, where he worked in Quality Assurance.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He was initiated into Springfield Lodge No. 440 in 2004 and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason the same year. He affiliated with Coastal Daylight Lodge No. 750 in 2009 and served as Worshipful Master in 2017. He served as District Deputy to the Grand Master from 2012 to 2018. He joined the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Savannah in 2004, where he became a 32° Mason, and he was awarded the Knight Commander Court of Honor in 2013.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hodgson Memorial Chapel located at 7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr, Savannah, GA 31406.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
