Raymond Allen Jenkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026. He was 66 years old.
Born in Mount Holly, New Jersey, on October 28th, 1959, Ray was the cherished son of the late Worthy and Miriam Jenkins. He is preceded in death by his brother Wayne Jenkins.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Janet Jenkins, with whom he shared over 43 wonderful years of marriage and companionship. He was a devoted father to his daughter Crystal (Jenkins) Ceresani and her husband Dominic, and his sons Shane Jenkins and his wife Katie, and Koby Jenkins. Ray's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Enzo Allen Ceresani, Roman Allen Jenkins, and Ledger Robert Jenkins, all of whom he shared his boundless love and dad jokes. He is also survived by sister Donna Moore, and his brothers Glen Jenkins and Steve Jenkins, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Ray worked for years with Georgia Pacific before becoming a dedicated Safety & Training Manager at McKesson Pharmaceuticals Warehouse, where he imparted his expertise and passion for mentoring as well as protecting others. Outside of his professional life, Ray found joy and solace in music, where he would “Jam for the Lamb” playing bass guitar for the Jeremy Thomas Band and the Centerpoint Community Church Worship Team. He was a proud member of Centerpoint Community Church. He loved sharing his love for Christ with others and inviting them to church. Some of his favorite moments with family and friends were the countless hours spent fishing, camping at Tybee Times, and time spent on the boat during the lake days (those floats didn’t stand a chance).
A man of profound influence in his community, Ray dedicated many years to coaching youth sports with basketball being his passion with the Effingham Recreation Department, where he focused on mentoring young players both on and off the court.
A visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia, on Monday, April 13th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral service celebrating Ray's life will take place at Centerpoint Community Church in Rincon, Georgia, on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at 11:00 am. with burial to follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
“Everybody loved Raymond” has never been a more truer statement, and he loved them right back. Ray's warm spirit, dedication to family and community, and his unyielding passion for life leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and all those whose lives he touched. Arrangements are under the care of Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel.
