Patricia (Pat) C. New, age 90 (72 days short of 91), passed away Thursday, June 18th, 2026 peacefully at her residence.

Mrs. New was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Carl V. Ferguson and the late Annie Mae Ferguson. She grew up in Atlanta before moving to her life long residence of Savannah (Isle of Hope) where she loved her community and friends. Before retiring, she worked as an interior designer. Mrs. New was a faithful member of Aldersgate and Connextion United Methodist Church. Pat served her Lord Jesus Christ in many roles, including being a Sunday School Teacher and lay reader.

Pat had an unquenchable love for pulling weeds and planting any type of flower, especially hydrangeas which were her mother's favorite. She was an avid reader. Her love of reading stayed with her until her last day.

She loved her family with great passion, speaking always that they were her greatest blessings and joys in life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Papa (Jack) New; and three sisters, Jean McDade, Betty Smith, and Elaine McLendon.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Linda) Vaughn, Timothy Vaughn, and Tony (Josie) Vaughn; brothers, Carl (Anne) Ferguson and Bill (Linda) Ferguson; sister, Linda Erwin; eight grandchildren and six bonus grandchildren; and six great grandchildren and 11 bonus great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406) follow by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

Psalm 27:4 - One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Amen.
