Nancy Exley Morgan, 79, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and faithful daughter of Christ, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Pruitt Health in Savannah, Georgia, following a courageous battle after suffering a stroke.
Born December 15, 1946, in Savannah to the late Denny Exley and Mary Morgan Exley, Nancy lived a life shaped by a deep love for Jesus Christ and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her faith was not simply something she professed; it was woven throughout her life, her music, her teaching, her ministry, and the way she loved those around her.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Denny Rembert Exley.
Nancy's greatest earthly joy was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Lingle (Chip) and Melanie Howard (Roy); brother, Randy Exley (Cherry); grandchildren, Alyssa Howard, Mary Sutphin (Kaidee), Zachary Howard (Serene), Austin Lingle, and Brandon Lingle (Amanda); and great-grandchildren, Heidi, Zachary Jr., and Luke. She also leaves behind her beloved friend and chosen sister, Susan Bartlett, several cousins, many nieces and nephews, and countless others who held a special place in her heart.
Nancy spent her life seeking a deeper relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, worship, and music. A gifted writer, musician, and teacher, she published two books, Created to Praise and Kiss the Son, and was working on a third. Over the years, she wrote hundreds of songs and released a CD accompanied by a songbook.
For more than 20 years, Nancy shared her love of music by teaching piano, leaving a lasting impression on generations of students. Her calling also reached far beyond Savannah. As founder and director of Daystar Ministry International, Nancy ministered in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Uganda, and throughout the United States.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy far greater than can be captured in words. It lives in the daughters she loved, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her such joy, the students she taught, the songs she wrote, the people she ministered to, and the faith she shared throughout her life. Above all, she will be remembered for her love of God and the love she poured into her family and others.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 22, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Isle of Hope Baptist Church, 22 Rose Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to the
American Diabetes Association.
