Mark Maxwell Arnstein

March 3, 1950 — July 5, 2020

Early morning, Sunday July 5th… Mark Maxwell Arnstein, passed away.

Mark was born in New York, NY and raised Jewish in Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob, the Orthodox Temple of Savannah, Georgia. His father Melvin and mother Selma, ran a Shoe Store there called Corky's Shoes beginning in the 1960's with doors open for roughly 30 years at which Mark worked along side his family, including his brother Elliot, and continued to work in sales until retirement. During that time, Mark met the love of his life and partner in crime, Cecile (Ceil) and were married for over 40 years.

Mark is survived by their son Michel, a UGA alumnus (who made them proud fans for life) and his grandson, William. Of both, Mark was fiercely proud.

Those who had the pleasure to know Mark, knew him as a witty and giving person. Full of dad jokes and a love for classic music, Mark was always available for a deep conversation about life and bucket list pursuits. When it came to a great meal he was always ready to compliment. In 2012, Mark reconnected with his niece, Stacy, who he was very close with. Mark had a small family, but a great many friends and touched many lives throughout the course of his life's journey.

On Wednesday, July 15th, the family will lay Mark to rest in the Jewish section of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.
