Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lloyd Ernest Stanhope III, fondly known as "Ernie." Born on a warm Friday, July 6th, 1979, in Savannah, Georgia, Ernie left this world on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026, at the age of 47. A beloved resident of Rincon, Georgia, Ernie embraced life with a spirit filled with love for his family, community, and passion for his interests.

Ernie was a dedicated Lead Production Painter at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, where he devoted 20 years of diligent service. His hard work and commitment to excellence were appreciated and respected by colleagues and friends alike.

Outside of his professional life, Ernie was a devoted family man who found immense joy in spending time with his beloved children. Whether at the ball field supporting his kids or cheering for his favorite Georgia sports teams, Ernie's enthusiasm and love were apparent to everyone around him. He was also a proud member of the Lowrider Club, where he shared his passion for cars and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Michelle Stanhope, and their adored children, Ethan, Aubrey, and Asher. He is also survived by his father, Lloyd Ernest Stanhope Jr., affectionately known as "Big Ernie," his father's wife, Debra; his step-sister, Sheryl Davis (Terrell Mike); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends. He has joined his dear mother, Sandra Coffee Stanhope, in eternal rest.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel with a Funeral Service to honor Ernie's life beginning at 12:00 pm. Following the service, a burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
