Mrs. Broadwell was born on October 6, 1939 in Bellingham, Washington to the late Eric Westman and Birgit Westlund Westman. June was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Broadwell and her sister Nancy. She is survived by her brothers, Henry, Frank, Jim, Jack and David; her sisters Elsie and Linda; her children Eric, Barry, Christian and Georgianna. June has 5 grandchildren, Patrick and Jeremy Garner, Nathaniel, Luke and Sophia Broadwell.
June and a friend from Bellingham were hired by the FAA in southern California. While working there she met her husband Brad Broadwell at a party. They eloped in Las Vegas and traveled the US following her husband’s career in aviation engineering finally settling in Savannah. While living in Marietta, June and Brad were very active in politics especially for the Barry Goldwater campaign. June was proud to be the Princess of the Barry Goldwater parade. While in Southington Connecticut she worked with the Welcome Wagon Organization. June raised four children and was active in her daughter’s baton twirling at Marylin Youmans School of Dance & Baton Studio. June worked as manager at the Best Western on Abercorn then changed employment to the Corps of Engineers as secretary to the Colonel’s Office from where she retired.
June loved having coffee with her friends from the Core. She her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved her family dearly. June was very generous; she would often buy wild caught shrimp and give to her neighbors and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406.
Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
