Juanita Bell Mercer, age 94, of Savannah, GA and formerly of Louisville, KY passed away Friday, July 25, 2025.

Mrs. Mercer was born on February 17, 1931, in Pettit, KY, the youngest of 13 children of the late William Alvey Henderson and Annie B. Ward Henderson. She was a graduate of Utica High School. Throughout her career Juanita worked as a cook and school guard but ultimately retired from St. Anthony's Hospital. She was a representative with Avon for 20 years and was a member of the Honor Society and President Club. She was a longtime member of Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ where she was active with the Over 50 Club. She enjoyed her time with Avon, visiting the sick with her church, and cooking.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Mrs. Mercer was preceded in death by her children, Donny Mercer, Sandy Bolen, Kenny Mercer and Timmy Mercer. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Forrest E. Mercer; grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Mercer, Stephanie (Todd) Woodruff, Kimberly (Steve) Lucas, Crystal (Johnny) Walker, and Tiffany Mercer; great grandchildren, Alex Mercer, Landon Mercer, Olivia Woodruff, Madelyn Woodruff, Caleb Lucas, Joshua Lucas, Destiny Walker, Alesia Walker, Alexis Walker, Savannah Walker, Johnny Walker Jr., Dwayne Walker, and Nicholas Mercer; daughter-in-law, Debbie Mercer; and son-in-law, Pastor Jim Bolen.

The family will be receiving friends at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. Burial will follow the funeral service at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, 1418 Belmar Drive, Louisville, KY 40213.
