Joyce Earline Mock

Joyce Earline Stewart Mock, a cherished resident of Garden City, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on Wednesday, January 23rd, 1935, in Savannah, Georgia, Joyce exemplified a life grounded in faith, family, and community.

A dedicated member of the First Baptist Church Garden City, she taught kindergarten for nine years, played many years of softball with the ladies' softball team and was the biggest Atlanta Braves fan. Joyce was deeply beloved by her community and family. Her career as a bookkeeper and administrator for the City of Garden City and the Garden City Police Department was marked by her commitment to excellence and integrity.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Stewart and Bessie Lee Edenfield Stewart; her husband, John Edward Mock, Jr.; and her son, John Edward Mock, III. Her legacy is lovingly carried forward by her children, Cindy Jo Sands and her husband Theron, David Anthony Mock Sr. and his wife Theresa; her seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Raymond Stewart, Doris Rose Woods, Daniel Stewart, and Lois Scott. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends who will miss her profoundly.

Visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church Garden City, on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at 1:00 pm, followed by a burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Joyce's strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family and community have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
