Joseph Paul "Joe" Haymore, age 91, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia.
Joe was born on June 29, 1934, to Rufus Haymore and Cora Haymore. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, James “Jim” Haymore and Ray Haymore. He is survived by his brother, Roy Haymore.
Joe was the devoted husband of Carol Ann Haymore, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage. Their relationship was marked by deep companionship, love, and quality time spent together. Sundays were especially meaningful to Joe—often reserved for special dinners and quiet “date days” with Carol in their sunroom, where they enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days and the life they built together.
Joe worked as a Foreman at Newport News Shipbuilding, where he dedicated 40 years of continuous service before retiring on November 30, 1993. He and Carol were active members of Elks Lodge #183, where Joe was honored as Elk of the Year.
Outside of work, Joe enjoyed collecting and building clocks, woodworking, working in the yard, and fixing things with his hands. Joe and Carol also loved to travel and spent many years traveling extensively with friends and organized groups, creating lasting memories together.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann Haymore; his children, Kenneth Paul Haymore (Tonie) and Brenda Kay Interlandi (Cindy); and Carol’s children, Tony Miller (Judi), Michael Miller (Tricia), and Linda Andrews; grandchildren, Jeffrey Haymore (Sheena), John Interlandi (Leah), and Kaitlyn Andrews (Devin); and extended family members, Phillip Jordan (Theresa) and Tonia Eriksen; and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Haymore Jr., Jordan Eriksen, Bobby Hanrahan, and Donnie Jordan. He was also looking forward to the arrival of a great-grandchild soon to be born to John and Leah.
Joe will be remembered as a kind, handy, and thoughtful man—a steady presence who valued family, hard work, and the simple joys of life.
A visitation will be held on December 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM, both at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. Burial will follow immediately afterward at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
