It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Joseph Cassidy "Papa Joe" Baker. Born on Thursday, November 12, 1959, in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, Joe passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Joe was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is deeply mourned by his loving wife, Linda Baker, and will be sorely missed by his three cherished daughters: Tiffany Lynn Baker, Nikki Marie Baker, and Cassidy Jo Baker. His legacy continues through his precious grandchildren, Ashlynn Schuman and Acetin Joseph Kirkham, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

An esteemed member of the Baker family, Joe is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth Wayne (Debbie) Baker, Jr., William Darrell "Bill" (Abbie) Baker, and Jonathan Woodrow "Woody" Baker, as well as his dear sister, Pamela (Lenny) Crane. Numerous nieces and nephews and his very extensive family also feel the immense loss of Joe.

Papa Joe was preceded in death by his loving parents, Kenneth Wayne Baker Sr. and Lillian Baker; brother, Tony Cribbs who now welcome him into eternal rest.

With an extraordinary career, Joe dedicated 42 years of loyal service to Georgia Power, where he retired having left a lasting impact with his unparalleled work ethic and kindness.

A true enthusiast of University of Georgia sports, he delighted in cheering on his Bulldogs and shared many joyous moments with family and friends through his love of sports.

Joe put his heart and soul into the ground work of many many projects throughout his career . He held much respect as a dedicated alliance to the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers GPC Union IBEW Being one of the original out at Savannah Electric along Savannahs staple the historic Savannah River. His home was wherever his heart was . His family honors his legacy and thank Joe for his dedication and sacrifices . Our Hero, in a hard hat or a Georgia baseball cap , and cross he was The Man with the plan he always left a light on and a presence that everyone who knew and loved him cherishes forever more.

A service to celebrate and honor Joe's remarkable life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hodgson Chapel. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service where family and friends can gather to remember Joe and support one another.

Arrangements are being handled with great care and respect by the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel.

Papa Joe's love, wisdom, and laughter have left a lasting imprint in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion, traits that will be cherished and remembered forever.
