Mr. Johnny A. Beaupre, Sr. (Red), age 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Mr. Beaupre was born in Savannah, Georgia on March 4, 1933 to the late Alfred Louis Beaupre and the late Bertha L. Soule Beaupre.
He was a faithful Christ follower. He was a Master Mason and a member of Clinton Lodge #54 F.&A.M. He joined the Masonic order on November 11, 1981. Mr. Beaupre was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Heyward #124 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion Post 135 in Savannah.
Mr. Beaupre graduated from Commercial High School in 1953, where he played football and baseball. In 1949 he joined the Georgia Army National Guard and served in multiple units. He had a break in service then joined the 16th Supply Company in Savannah, Ga, after which he transferred to the 713th Cav. Troop B Ridgeland, South Carolina in 1986. He graduated from M.C.O. School at Ft. Stewart. Mr. Beaupre retired from the Georgia National Guard on July 15, 1991 after 27 years of service. He worked for Local #508 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union for five years, Union Bag for five years, and retired from Stone Container after 36 years as a Senior Lab Technician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Beaupre; four half brothers; one half sister; two daughters, Sandy Murray and Stacy Yates and a grandson, Lamar Beaupre.
Survivors include his children, Johnny A. Beaupre, Jr., Mike Beaupre, Melodie Criswell, Cindy Fam, and Alesia Burns; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 35103) or Chatham County Animal Services (7211 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31406)
