Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Thomas Ward, a beloved resident of Guyton, Georgia, who went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at the age of 80. John was born on a Saturday, February 16th, 1946, in Sardis, Georgia, and was a beacon of faith and service throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Helen Ward; his father, James Ward; his mother, Maybell Ward; and his dear daughter, Dina Renee Ward. John was a devoted husband, father, and son who dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his community.

John spent his professional career with Great Dane Trailers, where he worked tirelessly as a Manufacturer until retirement. After retirement he went on to work at SRS Roofing. His work ethic and commitment were admired by many and left a lasting impact on those he worked with.

A man of deep faith, John was actively involved in his religious community. He was a proud member of both Relentless Church and North Salem Church. His passion for sharing the gospel was evident through his involvement in a truck stop ministry where he loved "preaching the words of Jesus Christ" to all who would listen. John's faith was not just a part of his life; it was his guiding light.

In the community, John was known for his kind spirit and friendly nature. He was an enthusiast for friendly competition and once triumphantly won a cornhole tournament, bringing joy and laughter to all around him.

A  Memorial Service to Honor the life of John Thomas Ward will be held at Relentless Church on Saturday May 16, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.

The arrangements for John's services are entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel. His family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy, cherishing the memories he leaves behind.

Though John is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, rejoicing in the company of those who have gone before him.
