Mr. John Richard Faulkner, Jr., age 63, of Savannah, entered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, passing peacefully and surrounded by those who cherished him.
Born on October 19, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee, John was the son of the late John Richard Faulkner, Sr., and Joy Faulkner Marchi. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where God blessed him with the greatest earthly gift of his life—meeting his beloved wife, Lisa Kay Lloyd Faulkner. After graduation, John and Lisa built their life together in the Georgia Lowcountry, where they raised their family and rooted themselves in faith, love, and community.
John dedicated 40 years to the food and beverage industry, faithfully serving in roles including Sales Manager at Georgia Crown Distributing, Northeast Sales Distributing, and ultimately fulfilling a lifelong dream as the proud owner of State Street Café in Savannah’s Historic District. His work ethic, kindness, and integrity touched countless lives along the way.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 38 blessed years, Lisa Kay Lloyd Faulkner; his sons, John “Jack” Richard Faulkner III and Michael Lloyd Faulkner, his daughter-in-law, Jordan Taylor Faulkner, his mother, Joy Marchi (John); his sisters, Mary Faulkner Goodenough (John) and Catherine Faulkner (Mike), his brother, Jason Lloyd (Dulcey), and his treasured nieces and nephews—Jennifer Todd, Cary Todd, Rachel West, Michael West, Chris Lloyd (Ally), and James Lloyd.
Though his family and friends feel the deep ache of his absence, they rest in the promise of eternal life and the blessed assurance that this is not "goodbye”, but rather "see you later," until they are reunited in God's presence.
A memorial service celebrating John's life and faith will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Compassion Christian Church, East Campus (9150 Old Montgomery Rd., Savannah, GA 31406). A lunch reception and visitation will follow the service at the church.
Inurnment will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Bonaventure Greenwich Cemetery (330 Greenwich Rd., Savannah, GA 31404).
In lieu of flowers, the family invites remembrances to be made to Coastal Georgia Walk to Emmaus or the American Cancer Society, organizations close to John's heart.
In the words John often shared with his sons as they headed out into the world: "Shiny Side Up!" A reminder of his love, his humor, and his ever-watchful care.
“…Well done, good and faithful servant…”
