Jerry Lane Emmett (01/01/1940-02/19/2026) was born to Jack and Mattie Lou Bonner Emmett on New Years Day 1940.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war aboard the USS Frank Knox, USS Bausel, and USS Chicago in the Tonkin Gulf.
His proudest accomplishments in life was being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will always be loved and remembered for how much he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Dianne. The love of his life, Peggy Wilbur Emmett, his wife of 65 years, preceded him in death nine months before, and now his broken heart has healed.
Jerry is survived by his children, Lori Saunders (Rick), Tracy Emmett (Missi); grandchildren, Matthew Saunders (Alexis), Michael Saunders (Clare), Ryan Saunders (Katelyn), Olivia Day, Angela Cowart (Austin), and Nick Emmett (Emma); and ten great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Savannah (1352 Eisenhower Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
