Jean T. Gray, of Savannah, GA, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on January 3, 1940, in Macon, Georgia, Jean lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
A graduate of McEvoy High School in Macon, Jean found her calling as a beautician, skillfully working from the comfort of her home. Her primary and heartfelt vocation, however, was as a dedicated pastor alongside her beloved husband, Rev. Cecil F. Gray, at First Assembly of God in Savannah. Together, they served their church community with unwavering commitment.
Jean was an active and devoted member of The Missionettes through her church, always looking for ways to support and inspire young women in their spiritual journeys. Her love for life extended beyond her ministry; she was known for her impeccable taste in fashion, with a special fondness for shoes that perfectly complemented her attire and matched her husband's outfits.
Jean's memory lives on in the hearts of her family: her sons, Frank Gray, Jr. and Jerry Gray (Jennifer); daughter-in-law, Diana Gray; grandchildren, Sarah (Mark), Whitney (Will), Jared (Rebekah), Kimberly (Shane), and Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Hudson, Asher, Hendley, and Tucker. She is also survived by her siblings, Ricky Mayers (Georgia), Linda Braswell (David), Joan Thomas, Randy Thomas, and Connie Wall (Rick).
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Rev. Cecil F. Gray; her son, David Gray, her father, Willie "Dusty" Thomas; her mother, Ruth Basket Johns; and her brother, Billy Thomas.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Jean's remarkable life. Visitation will be held at First Assembly of God on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral service at Greenwich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that remembrances be made to First Assembly of God Savannah or Amedisys Hospice in Jean's honor.
Arrangements are being handled by Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel, ensuring that Jean is laid to rest with the care and compassion she so deserves.
Jean T. Gray will be remembered for her deep faith, love of family, and the joyful spirit with which she embraced every day of her life. Her legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
