Janice Ray - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Ray, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend. Janice passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026, at the age of 64. A lifelong resident of Savannah, GA, Janice was born on February 6th, 1962, and embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm.
Janice was a proud graduate of South University in Savannah, where she earned a degree in business. This foundation led her to a fulfilling career in retail, where she was a dedicated employee at Lowe's, always extending her kindness and expertise to both colleagues and customers.
Janice's life was one of joy, laughter, and an undeniable love for music. A cherished member of Compassion Christian Church, she found great solace and happiness singing in the choir. Janice’s voice and spirit will be missed by all who were lucky enough to hear her. She embraced gatherings with friends, often expressing her love through cooking and sharing endless, heartwarming conversations.
Janice was the loving sister of Nell (Loy) Davis, and brothers Hugh L. (Mary) Ray and James Timothy Ray. She was an adored aunt to her nephew Jonathan (Heather) and nieces Faith, Aaron, Paula, Nicole, Heaven, and Savannah. Her great nephews, Gabriel and Ezra, Noah and Andrew, were a source of great pride and joy in her life.
Janice was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Hugh A. Ray and Naomi Ray, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Her memory will be held dear by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Janice will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her infectious laughter, and her boundless generosity.
Arrangements to celebrate and honor Janice's life will be handled by Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel. Her family appreciates the support and condolences received during this difficult time but finds comfort in the cherished memories Janice leaves behind.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date, please check back for date and times.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassion Christian Church or a charity of choice, in remembrance of Janice's kind and giving spirit.
