It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Wells Loper, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, where she built a beautiful life alongside her devoted husband of 65 years, Darrel. Together, they created a home rooted in love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family. Her greatest pride and joy was raising her three children, who carried forward her compassionate spirit and deep devotion to those she loved.
Jane was the very definition of a gracious hostess. She welcomed everyone into her home, and her heart, with warmth, kindness, and genuine joy. Her home was always full, a place of comfort, laughter, and belonging for all who entered. She lived her life with quiet grace and a generous spirit, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
In her later years, her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren became the light of her life. She cherished each of them deeply, showering them with endless love, pride, and affection.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Darrel; her daughter, Amanda Randall (Neil); her daughter-in-law, Denise Loper; as well as her six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Marguerite Wells; her sons, George and Robert Loper; and her brother, Johnny Wells.
The family has chosen to hold funeral services privately, honoring Jane’s life in a more intimate setting.
Jane will be remembered always for her warmth, her strength, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
