Jacqueline Nielsen Brasher, age 92 of Savannah, GA passed away on April 20, 2026.
Jackie was born in Danbury, CT, and moved to Kinston NC at a young age. She graduated from Salem College with a math major. She was married in Kinston NC to Don Brasher who passed away in 1995. Don and Jackie raised four children.
From Kinston the family moved and lived in Wilmington, Delaware, Geneva, Switzerland, and Tehran, Iran, before settling back again in Wilmington, DE. She relocated to the Landings in Savannah, Georgia in 2006.
Over the years Jackie worked as a math teacher and personal finance and accounting advisor to seniors and the disabled.
She was an avid tennis, golf (5 hole in ones!), bocce and bridge player. She volunteered in a variety of activities such as school tutoring, school pen pal program, church, and provided patient support at the hospital.
She is survived by immediate family: Daughter Cathy (Keum Hwang) , sons Don (Patrizia), Niel (Sally) and Drew. Six grandchildren, Kelsey, Charlie (Meghan), Bradley, Ali, Robyn and Zoe and one great-granddaughter, Quinn. In addition, her sister Pam Ball, brother in law Dennis Brasher (Hannah), nieces Allison Horn, Kim Cummings and Cindi Smith, nephews Mike, Pat and Bill Kunnecke, daughter in laws Emily Brasher and Sue Doran.
She was preceded in death by brother Bob Nielsen (Sue), brother in law Joe Ball, nephew Hayden Ball, sister in law Dot Kunnecke (Jimmy), and nephews Bob and Mark Kunnecke.
A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2026 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Skidaway Island at 3:30 pm followed by a reception at The Marshes of Skidaway Island at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Marshes Scholarship Fund of the Marshes of Skidaway Island (SHALSI - for Scholarship Fund).
