Jacob Matthew Lane, 34, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away on October 24, 2025. Jacob grew up in Thunderbolt and Effingham County, where he spent his childhood riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, always chasing adventure. Even as a young boy, he had a knack for selling on eBay and a heart full of dreams about the places he would travel.
Colorado held a special place in his heart. It was the landscape he loved most, and although he was lucky enough to live there a couple of times, he was planning his final trip back. His biggest devotion in life, though, was to his beloved Rottweilers. Having been around the breed since he was a child, he cherished each of his six surviving dogs as family: Roxy, Maya, Svetlana, Bubba, Tommy, and Wolfgang.
Jacob is preceded in death by his father, John Michael Lane. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Hinely; his sister, Rebecca Lane; his brother, David Schuman; his niece Annaleigh Hodges; his nephews Waylon Hodges and Christian Schuman; and his six fur babies, who were his constant companions and children in every way that mattered. He cared deeply for his family and loved spoiling the kids. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Jacob will be remembered for his fearlessness, his big dreams, and the loyal love he gave so freely.
The family will hold a celebration of life at his mother’s home on Saturday November 1st at 1pm. It is open to family, friends, and anyone who would like to attend. Those who wish to join may reach out to his sister, Rebecca Lane, for details.
