Hazel Stanley was born on March 21, 1928, in Nevils, Georgia, to John Lawson and Ida Jane Anderson. A woman of deep faith, Hazel loved Jesus and lived her life with a quiet strength and steady grace. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Woodstock, Georgia.
A dedicated and hardworking soul, she spent many years applying her sharp mind and strong work ethic in the field of accounting. She was also a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Temple.
Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Edward Kemp Jr. and David Kemp. She is survived by her brother, Andy Anderson of Richmond Hill; her daughter-in-law, Sherree Kemp; five granddaughters; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom brought her immense joy.
Her legacy of faith, perseverance, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Visitation for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13th at Baker McCullough Funeral Home (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah) with a memorial service immediately following at noon.
A memorial service will also be held on Thursday, December 11th at Trinity Church Kennesaw (2121 Barrett Park Drive, Kennesaw, GA) at 6:00 p.m.
