Remembering a Life of Adventure, Dedication, and Love
Mr. George “Jerry” Gustave Collins, age 80, of Savannah, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born on August 26, 1945, in Woodbury, New Jersey, Jerry was the beloved son of Gloria Linda Lewis Collins and the late George Paul Collins.
Throughout his extraordinary life, Jerry embraced adventure and instilled a legacy of love that his family will forever hold dear. He enjoyed a distinguished career spanning over 30 years with IBM and KLA, a journey that allowed him to travel the globe with his family, immersing them in diverse cultures and experiences. Jerry’s love of building never waned—from his youth into his late seventies, he continued to construct and design, most notably overseeing significant renovations and additions at his cherished second home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was here, on the 1886 farm his daughter and son-in-law purchased in 2022, that Jerry completed a stunning stone cottage for himself and his wife, a testament to his vision and craftsmanship.
Jerry was devoted to his family, delighting in time spent watching his son in hockey, daughter in horse riding and grandchildren in their hobbies. Most recently, he was the number one fan of his granddaughter excelling in collegiate competitive swimming. Jerry took an active role in the lives of those he loved. Known for his generosity, humor, and boundless energy, Jerry was always thinking of ways to help others and bring joy to those around him.
In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Toby Collins; and his sisters, Sandi Sweeney and Gloria Linda Billings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Ann Jones Collins; his mother, Gloria Linda Collins; his sister Doreen Leonard; his brother Tom Collins; his daughter, Heather Collins Villemaire; his son, Paul Jason Collins; and his treasured granddaughters, Anastasia, Alexandra, and Shelby.
A celebration of Jerry’s remarkable life will be held on June 27, 2026, at his home in Lancaster, PA. Funeral services are scheduled for March 14, 2026, at 2pm at the Palmetto Club House at the Landings on Skidaway in Savannah, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to honor Jerry’s generous spirit and legacy of kindness.
