It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Wayne Holland, age 59, on May 26, 2025. Gary, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away after a sudden illness.
Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Holland; his children, Justin Holland (Lindsey) and Ashley Youmans (Wade); and his cherished grandchildren, Madison Holland, Camryn Youmans, Jacob Holland, Hannah Youmans, and Ryder Holland. He is also remembered by his brothers, Ricky Holland and Paul Holland; his sisters, Linda Harmon and Janet Waters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends he considered family.
Gary’s career as a superintendent for TIC spanned 30 years, during which he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. A true "gentle giant," he made lasting impressions on all who knew him, always willing to lend a helping hand or provide a word of wisdom.
Outside of work, Gary had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting, which allowed him to spend time in the peace of nature. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his family and always made time for them. Whether it was guiding his children through life’s challenges or enjoying precious moments with his grandchildren.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Fay Holland; and his beloved son, Christopher Holland. Though he will be greatly missed, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
A memorial service will be held to honor Gary’s life and legacy on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Higher Ground Baptist Church (9120 Whitefield Ave, Savannah, GA 31406).
