Elizabeth P. Miles (Savannah) passed away on October 23, 2025, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Compassus Hospice Savannah after a short illness.
She was born in Savannah on November 22, 1937, the daughter and oldest child of Otis John Berry Dasher and Anna Pearl Cumbee. She was predeceased by husband James (Jim) Larry Miles, Sr.; her parents; and her youngest brother, Eugene E. Dasher.
She is survived by her brother, William P. Dasher (Ina) of Ocala, FL; her three children and their spouses, James Larry Miles, Jr. (Carol), Cheryl M. Ward (Tommy), and Michelle M. Strickland (Bubba), all of Savannah. Seven grandchildren, Kathryn Miles (Alex Roorda) of Monroe, GA, Chelsea Posateri (Max) of Kansas City, KS, and Brett Strickland, Alexander Miles, Ryan Strickland, Elizabeth C. Ward, and Zack Strickland of Savannah as well as three great-grandchildren, Micah James Miles Roorda and Evelyn Miles Posateri and Emmett Ward Posateri.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Commercial High School, Class of 1956 and attended Savannah Vocational Technical School. She worked at Memorial Medical Center as a Certified Professional Secretary (International Association of Administrative Professionals) for 27 years before retiring. Elizabeth was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she sang in the choir and attended Sunday School. She was a member of the Alee Shriners Women Auxiliary and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in the Beta Kappa Chapter. She was a very creative and talented seamstress, specializing in custom draperies. Later in life she further developed her artistic skills as an accomplished landscape painter, leaving many wonderful paintings behind for her family. Elizabeth loved working in her garden and being with her family.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Temple in the Wilder Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30th, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. and final interment at Hillcrest Abbey West.
