Eleanor “Ellie” Williams Mulvaney, 94, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, following a short illness and under the compassionate care of Hospice of Savannah.

Born on July 2, 1931, in Savannah, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of Walter H. Williams and Tommy O. Williams. Ellie graduated from Commercial High School in 1948 and shared 67 devoted years of marriage with her husband, John Edward Mulvaney Sr.

Ellie dedicated her professional life to the banking industry, beginning her career as a teller and retiring as an officer with the Original Savannah Bank and Trust Company. She was known for her strong work ethic, warmth, and gracious spirit. In retirement, she found her greatest joy in traveling with her grandchildren and especially cherished summers spent in Ireland, creating treasured memories with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Tom (Jamie) and Jim (Do Thi Thu Thuy); her seven grandchildren, Sheri Neidlinger (Ricky), Erin Watson, Sean Allen (Natalie), Stephanie Wassel (Greg), Stacy Mulvaney, Thomas Mulvaney, and Gloria Mulvaney (Chad); many great-grandchildren; and her loyal companion of many years, Phyllis Hambrick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Mulvaney Sr.; her son, John Edward Mulvaney Jr.; and her daughter, Carole.

A graveside service will be held February 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Savannah (1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).

Ellie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
