Eleanor Collini Farkas, a beloved member of the Tybee Island community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Savannah, Georgia, on May 25, 1934, Eleanor lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to her family.
Eleanor was the daughter of the late Bennie R. Collini and Robbie E. Collini. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dr. Zoltan J. Farkas, and her brother, Robert Paul Collini. Eleanor's life was a testament to her faith and commitment to her community, having served as a church secretary at Sacred Heart Church for many years. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her. When Eleanor settled on Tybee Island she join St. Michael Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two sisters, Sister Camille Edith Collini CSJ and Frances Virginia Roberge (Joseph), her two step-sons, step-daughter, 7 grandchildren, 2 nephews, and 4 nieces.
Eleanor Collini Farkas will forever be remembered as a loving wife, sister, and friend. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church (802 Lovell Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328) with an inurnment to follow at the Catholic Cemetery.
