Dorothy Lee Wright, 100, of 351 Wilmington Island Road, Savannah, GA passed away Sunday, Sep 29, 2024 at Summer Breeze Assisted Living.

A Native of Wichita Falls, TX, she was the daughter of Luke Warren and Lena Warren.

She is preceded in death by husband, Col. Weldon Wright, son John Wright, and grandson Jeff Tyson.

Survivors are daughters, Karen Tyson of Savannah, GA, Margaret Kyle (Bob) of Tulsa OK. granddaughters, Stacy Groce (Clark) of Canton, GA and Sarah Blakemore of Los Angeles, CA, great-granddaughters Megan Groce, Eugene, OR, Caroline Groce, Carbondale, CO, and Claire Richardson (Noah) of Brookhaven, GA, brother Weldon “Buddy” Warren (Mary), Pearland, TX. nephews, Todd Warren, Pearland, TX, and Tommy Warren, Scottsdale, AZ, and great nephew Ryan Warren (Krista) of Chandler, AZ.

Dorothy spent her life as a military wife with her husband Col. Weldon Wright. She was a homemaker who ran the household for her family, participated in multiple clubs and military wife’s activities. Dorothy was a gifted musician who played for churches, accompanied choruses and played for parties when she was younger. She also was an excellent cook and baker.

Dorothy had an unwavering faith in God and was actively involved in her church life. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

The family will receive friends and family for a Memorial Service at Summer Breeze Senior Living 351 Wilmington Island Rd, Savannah, GA 31410, Friday November 15, 2024 at 2:30pm

Burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery, Monday November 18, 2024 at 2:00pm where her ashes will join her husband, Col. Weldon Wright.
