Dona Ronella Edenfield, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a cherished resident of Garden City, Georgia, and her gracious spirit and enduring love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Born on October 27, 1930, in Mount Vernon, Georgia, Dona was the daughter of the late Walter Arthur Scott and Cora Lee Lanier. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim Paul Edenfield, and her sister, Dorothy Mitchell.

Dona spent most of her professional life as a dedicated Customer Service Representative for Sears, where she made numerous friends and brought smiles to countless faces. Her commitment to her work and community was exemplary.

Dona's faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 65 years, she was a familiar face at every service and event. Her love for God and the church was unwavering, and she devoted much of her time to studying the Bible and serving her community. Her passion for cooking earned her the affectionate title of "The Cake Lady." Dona was renowned for her exceptional culinary skills, and she found joy in providing delicious food and desserts to those in need or in mourning. She was known to offer help to anyone in need, always seeing the best in people and extending a hand of friendship and kindness wherever she went.

Family was at the heart of Dona's life. She is survived by her loving children, son James Michael Edenfield (Marianne), and daughter Diane Daugherty (Edwin). Her grandchildren, Jamie Akers (Michael), and Casie Poston (Toby), brought immense joy to her life, as did her treasured great-grandchildren, Ava Yaughn, Roman Akers, and Caroline Akers. Dona also leaves behind her caring nephews, Alan Mitchell (Carol), and Ronnie Rivers (Susan).

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 5-7pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11am at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Garden City with Dr. Derward Poole officiating. Burial will be held privately on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Mrs. Edenfield's honor to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 407 Talmadge Avenue, Garden City, GA 31408, ensuring the continuation of her legacy of faith and community service. Dona Ronella Edenfield's life was a testament to the strength of faith, love, and community. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, forever in God's embrace.
