Mrs. Dolly Caldwell Welch, age 90, of Savannah passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Mrs. Welch was born on October 30, 1935 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Roy Caldwell and the late Nell Trainor Caldwell. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, and studied music at Newberry College. She was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church for many years, and in recent years, an active member of First Baptist Church of the Islands. After raising her two children she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Historic Savannah Foundation. She also worked in several medical practices prior to retiring. She was a loving and doting grandmother, who never missed an opportunity to brag on her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Jeffers; her second husband, Don Welch; brothers, Jerry Caldwell and Pat Summer; and sister, Patsy Morris.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Joey & Tami Jeffers; daughter, Yvonne Bounds; sister, Marie Anderson; three grandchildren, Brandy bounds, Sydney Jeffers, and Hayley Jeffers; and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404).
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
