It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Fowler Albritton, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on Friday, October 17, 2025. Diane was born on February 28, 1951, in Savannah, Georgia. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith.
Diane was a proud 1969 graduate of Windsor Forest High School and later achieved a Business Degree from South University in 1998, reflecting her lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. As a young girl she worked with her grandparents in their sandwich shop and was a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Her career was marked by distinguished service to the State of Georgia as a Data Manager at Georgia Regional, from which she retired after 34 years of dedicated service.
A woman of deep faith, Diane was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Temple, where she was affectionately known as "Sarge" for her spirited involvement in the choir and Sunday School. She was also an active member of the Christian Women's Club and Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), further expressing her devotion to her community.
Diane's infectious laughter and love for games made gatherings around the table a joyous occasion. She relished playing Skippo and Canasta with friends at the Senior Center, making every moment shared a treasured memory.
Diane will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Laura Austin and husband Ryan, and Kristen Durrence and husband Chad; her brother, Robert Fowler III; brother, Earl Fowler and wife Kay; her cherished grandchildren, Madison Austin and Taylor Austin; step grandchildren, Bethany Durrence and Scarlet Durrence; and her stepfather, Robert J. Belanger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fowler II and Betty Durden Belanger.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia. A celebration of Diane's life will take place at Calvary Baptist Temple, 4625 Waters Avenue, Savannah, Georgia on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11:30 am.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel.
Diane’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
