Cynthia Louise Blount

Mrs. Cynthia Louise "Cyndy" Blount, age 77, of Savannah passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Cynthia was born in Lumberport, West Virginia to the late Keith Louis Pyles and the late Garnet Louise Wright Pyles. Cyndy's father was a member of the U.S. Air Force and was able to travel all over the world. She later settled in Savannah, Georgia in her teen years, where she attended Jenkins High School, graduating in 1967.

Cyndy was defined by her kind heart. She was laid back and easy-going, finding the goodness in everyone she met. She enjoyed shopping and fishing with her husband. She was a gifted painter, selling her unique works of art. Her husband, David Blount, was her biggest supporter and together they were married for 34 years. Above all, Cyndy loved being a grandmother and caring for her grandchildren.

Cyndy retired from Diabetic Management at CVS where she thoughtfully taught people with diabetes how to manage and treat their disease. She was a member of Island Christian Church for 30 years.

In addition to her parents, Cyndy was preceded in death by her mom, Laura Gunter; her brother, Eric Pyles; and her sister, Pamela Gast.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Blount; daughters, Kristal Harley (George) and Sherry Blount; sisters, Donna Kastel (Doug) and Debbie Broderick (John); grandchildren, Courtney Blount, Mark Igou, and Megan Mills; great-grandchildren, Ashton Blount and Emersyn Hammond; and many other great-grands, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Islands Christian Church (4601 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410), followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404).
