Crella Sue Wise, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026. Born as Crella Sue Glover in Berry, Alabama, she was raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She later made her home in Savannah, Georgia, where she lived for nearly 30 years before returning to Alabama following the passing of her beloved husband in 2017.
Sue was a devoted homemaker who found joy in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She had a deep love for working in her yard and took great pride in its beauty. Known as an excellent cook, she shared that gift generously with those she loved. She cherished time spent at the beach and in the mountains, places that brought her peace and happiness.
Her faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her life, and she lived that faith through kindness, generosity, and love for others. She was especially devoted to her family and was known for her giving heart, both to them and to charitable causes. She also treasured her close friendships throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Michael Reynold Shelton and his wife, Tabatha Shelton, of Luverne, Alabama; her daughter, Jenifer Shelton Ogletree and her husband, Charles Ogletree, of Gulf Shores, Alabama; four grandchildren, Daisye Alice Williams, Shelby Williams Walker and her husband, Kolten Walker, Hayden Shelton and his wife, Jana Shelton, and Colby Shelton; and one great-grandchild, William Leo Walker. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Glover and his wife, Kay Glover, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her sister, Donia Jones and her husband, Steve Jones, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Odell Wise, Jr., who passed away in June of 2017.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, Georgia, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. A viewing for family and friends will be held prior to the service at Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia.
Sue will be remembered for her loving spirit, her unwavering faith, and the kindness she extended to everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
