Obituary

With heavy hearts, but with comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, we announce the passing of Constance Grace Payton, 72, of Pooler, Georgia. Constance passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Constance was a remarkable woman whose life was rooted in faith, family, and love. A devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, she had a heart that made everyone around her feel special. Her love for God was the foundation of her life, and she shared that love through her kindness, generosity, and the way she cared for those around her.

Constance found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She had a special gift for quilting, creating treasures stitched together with patience and love. She was also known for her incredible baking, especially her cakes, which were truly out of this world! Those fortunate enough to enjoy one of her cakes knew that a little piece of her heart went into everything she made.

Above all else, Constance treasured her family. She shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard Payton. Her greatest blessings were the generations of family she loved so dearly, and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever.

Constance was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Teague. Though the loss of a child leaves an ache that words cannot describe, her family finds comfort in the beautiful promise of Heaven, knowing that she is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved son, David. What a glorious reunion that must have been.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Richard Payton; her loving daughter, Jolene Gretz, and son-in-law, Michael Gretz; her granddaughter, Meagan Curry; and her precious great-grandchildren, Harlow Miller and Iris Dickson.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday October 18, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 19, 2026 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.

Burial will follow in Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bloomingdale.

While her family will miss her presence, her warm embrace, her beautiful creations, and the love she poured into everything she did, they find peace in knowing that this is not goodbye forever, but simply until we meet again.

Constance leaves behind a legacy far greater than words can express. It is a legacy of faith, unconditional love, family traditions, and countless beautiful memories. Her hands may now be at rest, but the love she stitched into every quilt, baked into every cake, and poured into her family will live on for generations.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23

Rest peacefully, Constance. Your work here is done, your love will never be forgotten, and your heavenly home awaits.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
