Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brent Lee Davidson, beloved husband, father, friend, and artist, who left this world on Friday, May 1st, 2026. Brent passed away peacefully at the age of 54 in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.

Brent was born on Thursday, March 30th, 1972, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. His formative years were filled with love from his grandfather Edwin and great-grandmother Mary Walden. His passion for learning and art came from the security they provided. These traits eventually led him to seek higher education, becoming the first in his extended family to obtain Bachelor degrees in both Art and Psychology. Brent’s desire to make the world a better place started in social work and eventually led him to be a cherished driving instructor who took pride in guiding teenage students safely on the roads. Brent felt great responsibility and pride as a small business owner in Aurora, Indiana, and taught his children the importance of giving back to the community.

Brent's family was truly the cornerstone of his existence. Celebrating 35 years of marriage, Brent leaves behind his devoted wife, Jeweli Dell Ellingwood Davidson; his daughter, Rebekah Davidson; his son, Lincoln Davidson; cousin, Mark Waldon; and niece April Ellingwood Bradley, with her spouse, Joshua Bradley, along with their two sons, Oliver Bradley and Cohen Bradley. He also leaves behind cherished friends Subrata Ghosal, Cynthia Gay, and Avery Sullivan. Brent's legacy of kindness and loyalty extends to many friends who were touched by his generous spirit.

In addition to his dedication to his family and his career in public service, Brent found joy and solace in the arts, music, and writing haikus, always appreciating the elegance and simplicity of those expressions. His strong will and perseverance fueled frequent open discussion on the need for reform within social and justice systems.

Survived by loving family members, Brent joins his late grandparents, Edwin and Mary Walden, dear friend, Mary Walton Waitzman, and treasured dog Silver in the embrace of eternity.

As a cancer survivor, Brent's life was a testament to resilience and hope, embodying a spirit that will forever be remembered and celebrated by those who had the honor of knowing him. Brent Lee Davidson will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His lifetime of love, teaching, and unwavering loyalty will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Family selected Haikus by Brent Lee Davidson:

Art, humanity
Color, music and the tongue
All balms for the soul

My beautiful wife

May your day be glorious
My thoughts are of you

Rainbows are for all
Gay, straight, man, woman or child
Everyone needs them

You are so gentle
It is your nature to heal
Your heart … gentle

Halloween, best day
Monsters and witches at play
Let the ghost fly free

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brent's name to United Way which supported him and his family during his fight with cancer.
