Betty J. Stevenson, age 91, of Savannah, Georgia passed away on Monday July 14, 2025.
Betty was born on November 18, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Arther VanAman and Hulda VanAman. Betty was a former resident of Battle Creek, MI and Lakeland, FL. Betty moved to Savannah 2 years ago to be closer to family.
Betty retired from Kellogg’s where she did clerical work and was a tour guide.
Betty loved caring for the stray cats in her neighborhood. She also loved Detroit Tigers baseball. She enjoyed going to church and served as an usher for many years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Robert Stevenson; her sisters, Genevieve VanGiesen and Joyce Gabriel; and her son, Jerry Mills.
Survivors include: her partner of 20 years, Donald Murphy; her daughter, Laura Mills; a beloved niece, LeeAnn Gallik; her grandson, Terry (Christina) Edwards; great-grandson, Noah (Kate) Edwards and great granddaughter, Emily (Karl) Edwards.
A private Service for family will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Tuesday July 22nd.
