Betty Williams Lee was born June 10, 1932 in Savannah, GA and passed away Friday, October 31, 2025.

She met the love of her life, Robert F. Lee, Jr. at her Daddy's grocery store and they were married September 3, 1950. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee; son, Larry Lee; son, Jimmy Lee; grandson, Michael Lee; brother, Jason Williams; parents, J.C. and Ethel Williams; and special friend, Billy Woodcock. Survivors include; son, Jerry Lee (Karen); daughter, Brenda Yancey (Timmy); grandchildren, Stephanie Lee, Shawn Yancey, Becky Merchant (David), Joey Lee (Sarai), Tammy Lee (Sam), and Allison Lee (D.J.); two great grandchildren, Emma Chappell and Kali Yancey; a brother, Corrie Williams (Geraldine) and other relatives. She was a Catholic and graduated with honors from St. Vincent's Academy. She worked as a cashier for Bill Jones Mkt., which was partially owned by her daddy. She also worked at her daddy's store and cafe part time. She worked for the Savannah Chatham Board of Education for 22 years and retired October 1, 1992. She took tap dancing when she was young and again in her 60's. Hobbies included camping, fishing, water skiing, dancing, genealogy, traveling, making ceramics, and oil painting. She performed tap dancing with a group for senior citizens, organized and danced in a talent show for the Elks Auxiliary, organized and had a cook book published for the American Legion Auxiliary, and took part in several fashion shows at the Elks. Robert and Betty celebrated their 50th anniversary on September 3, 2000 with a reception at the Elks and renewed their vows at St. Joseph Church in Macon. She and Robert researched the family histories and put together family history books, created a web page and CD's of the family histories. They also recorded the children growing up and saved the memories on many CD's. She was a Chaplain, Historian and President of the American Legion Post 135 Auxiliary. She also held the position of Recording Secretary three years and substitute Chaplain one year for the Savannah Elks Auxiliary.

The family will be receiving friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
