Ms. Betty Jean Curry Cashwell, age 79, of Savannah passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Ms. Cashwell was born on August 6, 1946 in Liberty, Texas to the late Albert Curry and Louise Curry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Boyd Curry; son, Michael Cashwell; and daughter, Karen Gruber.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Heather Cashwell; granddaughters, Abigail Cashwell, Annyston Cashwell, and Morgan Gruber; and grandsons, Ivan Gruber and Max Gruber.

Betty was known for being a true Southern lady. She was a registered nurse for over 30 years. She was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church and the women’s social circle. Her most recent passion was the Parkersburg Garden Club, where she served as president for two years. She especially enjoyed tending to her own plants and garden, reading, and cherished time spent with family and friends.

A private family committal service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.

A reception will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Ministry Center at the church.
