Obituary

April MoNeke Stowers, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the age of 44.

Born on a beautiful Sunday in Hinesville, Georgia, on October 25, 1981, April spent most of her life in Anderson, South Carolina. It was there that she grew into a cherished member of the community, dedicating herself to her family, faith, and work.

April was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and later worked with Electrolux and Nutra Manufacturing. Her kind heart and caring spirit shone through in all her endeavors, making a positive impact on everyone she encountered.

A woman of many passions, April was an avid reader who found joy and solace in the pages of a good book. Her love for singing and dancing was infectious; she was known for her beautiful voice, which she shared with the congregation of Asbury Memorial Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina, where she was baptized and sang in the choir.

April is survived by her loving mother, Ronica Stowers Gray, and her father, Tony Hughes. She leaves behind her cherished children: Tyrekus Tate, Octavious Tate, Khidhar Hall, Alayden Gray, and Skyla Gray, as well as her dear grandchildren, Tavion Tate and Amraria Hall. April is also survived by her siblings: Kristal Hughes, Tonisha Hughes, Shanetra Stowers, Monica Clinkscales and her husband Rodiquez, and William Edwards. She will be deeply missed by her extended family and a host of friends who were fortunate enough to know her.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held to honor April's memory. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she touched so many lives with her warmth and kindness.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, located at 2794 US Highway 80 West, Garden City, Georgia 31408. For additional information, visit their website at www.bakermccullough.com or call (912)-964-2862.
