Anna Wynn Burns

February 26, 1936 — July 26, 2025

Savannah

Anna (Ann) Wynn Burns, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Savannah,
Georgia. Born on February 26, 1936, in Highland Park, Illinois, to the late James Gannon and
Hazel Moffat Gannon, Ann lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

After graduating from Malinckrodt High School in 1952, Ann married her beloved husband,
John (Jack) Burns, in 1956. They shared 62 years of marriage, raising four sons: John, Jimmy,
Billy, and Patrick Burns. Ann was a devoted mother, her strength and care shaping her family
with warmth and guidance.

Ann found happiness in life’s quiet moments. She loved reading, diving into everything from
bestsellers to classic novels. Her loyal dog, Charlie, was often by her side as she enjoyed
needlepoint or watched Wheel of Fortune. These simple joys brought light to her days.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Gannon; her husband, Jack; her son,
Billy Burns; and her brother, Bill Edwards.

She is survived by her sons John Burns (Lorena), Jimmy Burns (Paula), and Patrick Burns
(Marley); her eight grandchildren, William, Alec, Anna-Elise, Jamie Wynn, Savannah,
Dominique (Nikki), Tristan, and William (Billy) Burns; and her five great-grandchildren, Anna-
Belle, Daisy, Joshua, Payton, and Wyatt.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the
Alzheimer's Association, a charity she held dear to her heart.
