Allen Headrick Strickland

Allen H. Strickland, age 85, of Pooler, GA, passed away on Friday, March 22nd, 2024. He was born on Tuesday, August 2nd, 1938 in Daisy, GA. Allen was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather.

After serving 43 years with Union Camp Corporation in Savannah, Georgia, Allen retired and enjoyed spending time with his family and pursuing his interests. He was a proud Air Force veteran and a member of South Newington Baptist Church. An outdoorsman at heart, Allen loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and mud bogging racing.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mildred Strickland, his sons Clay Strickland and Ronnie Strickland (Stacy), his sister Gwendolyn Strickland Franklin, his granddaughter Stephine Leigh Howell, his great granddaughter Melaina Howell, and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen Vance Strickland and Thelma Turner Strickland.

A visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City Chapel on Friday, March 29th, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Pastor Steve McCoy and Pastor Matt Gallant officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
