Vivian Eulalia Alderman

October 26, 1932 - February 20, 2022

Vivian Eulalia Alderman, 89, of Savannah, passed away February 20, 2022 at her home. She was born October 26, 1932 in Savannah to the late Lela A. Kitchens and Fred M. Harden, the youngest of five and the only girl. She dearly loved her older brothers and enjoyed playing with them and doing everything that they did. She was definitely a tomboy. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she served in numerous capacities, including working in the nursery, acting as seamstress for the choir and children’s cantatas and prepared many meals for the church family. Mrs. Alderman married the love of her life, James Franklin Alderman, Sr. on January 14, 1956 and together, they raised five children. She was a homemaker, spending much of her time taking care of her family. In her spare time, she and her husband liked to bowl in various leagues and tournaments. She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress, served as Secretary for the Victory Senior League, but perhaps most enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics bowling events. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Alderman, Sr.; sons, James Franklin Alderman, Jr. and William R. Alderman; and brothers, Kimball, Fred and Douglas Harden, and Ernest Walston. Surviving are daughters, Donna McKay, Jeannine Cooler (Jim) and Denise Hollis (Allen); nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren on the way. The family will receive friends Thursday February 24, 2022 from 4-6PM at Baker McCullough Funeral Home 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406. Graveside services will be held Friday February 25, 2022 at 11am at Hillcrest Abbey on Wheaton Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406 or Hospice Savannah 1352 Eisenhower Drive Savannah, GA 31406. Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406 912-927-1999 has been entrusted with arrangements.
